The mission of NDT Nano group is to develop and commercialize nanoscale particles or nanosized organic, inorganic, and hybrid materials for various industrial applications such as telecommunications, optics, electronics, optoelectronics, displays, OLEDs, as well as the mainstream biomedical applications in areas of drug delivery and biomedical imaging systems. We are engaged in working closely with Nitto Denko Group to help employ up-to-date nanotechnology and nanomaterials that fit into their existing products to achieve improvement. We also seek collaborations with elite research groups in universities, research institutes, companies, and industrial partners to develop novel nanotechnologies and materials driven by mutual interests. In development of current EL materials, one technical problem that the researchers often encountered is the inability of displaying bright white light luminescence. Designing good white light emitting material may lead not only to the next generation LED display devices, but also to good flexible and bright LCD backlight sources. Therefore, NDT researchers are developing new bright white light fluorophore material, using the unique materials. Incorporation of inorganic nanoparticle as filler into resins to improve mechanical, thermal and optical properties is a well known technology. One of drawbacks associated with this approach includes loss of transparency. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to develop not only nanoparticle synthesis and organic synthesis technologies but also dispersion and surface modification of nanoparticle technologies. NDT is currently pursuing the pathway to provide ideal nanocomposite materials into new product for Nitto Denko, especially in optical material area.
