Nitto Denko Technical Corporation (NDT) was established in Oceanside, California in October 2000 as an independent centre of excellence for research and development into new growth engines for its parent company, Nitto Denko Corporation (www.nitto.com), based in Osaka, Japan.

NDT focuses on cutting edge technologies that will provide practical solutions for leading industry sectors such as Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Optronics and others into the next decade and beyond. Our long term vision and unparalleled, multi-disciplinary team of researchers from all over the globe make NDT a vibrant and exciting center of new ideas and brilliant technologies.

NDT comprises three R&D divisions: Biotechnology Group: Focuses on gene and drug delivery, tissue engineering, imaging and other related technologies Optical Communications Group: Develops novel photorefractive materials, polymeric materials for Electro optics, and organic solar cell etc. Nano-Ceramics Group: Develops white light fluorophore , novel nano composite materials etc.

NDT has now grown into a flourishing center of over 80 scientists and staff. In order to accommodate our rapid growth, a new, state-of-the-art facility was completed in July 2005, providing a new environment to strive for even higher goals.
